Motihari

Motihari is a Nagar Nigam city in district of Purbi Champaran, Bihar.
The Motihari Nagar Parishad has population of 126,158 as per report released by Census India 2011.
Motihari is the headquarters of East Champaran district (Purvi Champaran district) in the Indian state of Bihar.In 1866 Champaran was made into a district with Motihari as its headquarters. On 1 December 1977 the Champaran district was divided into two and Motihari became the headquarters of East Champaran district. The municipality of Motihari was established in 1879. Though no authentic data is available, one of the oldest structures in Motihari appears to be the Briksha Sthan Math, a temple of the guardian deity of Motihari, dating back to 1805. During the British era the town flourished and it became one of the important centers in North Bihar.

    De vraha baba Ashram was established at MOTIHARI bye pass kolhuarwa, NH 28A in 1986 by the permission of baba. A beautiful murti of sangemarmar of baba is established here along with Ram darbar, Shiv Darbar and Bajrangbali. A big satsang bhawan and a yajna bhawan(Hawan kund) is an additional attraction of the Ashram. Daily hawan, pujan and jap is performed at Ashram without fail. The Ashram is in approx 3 acres of land, where all worships are performed on daily basis. All the twenty four ekadashi with 24 hour ashtam are being performed here since year 2000. Next day of Ekadashi, Maha prashad is done for all fasting Bhakts.
